Shoulder, arm, and leg pain problems are common, and many issues with these areas can be linked to a group of nerves, called the brachial plexus. These nerves run from the lower neck through the upper shoulder area, and allow the shoulder, arm, and hand to move and feel.
While the pain may manifest itself in the arm or leg, it often originates in the spine. All of the innervation in the body’s extremities–your arms and legs–comes from the nerves that exit the cervical spine. When people irritate a nerve in the neck or low back, it often sends a signal down to the hand or leg. It continues to cause pain in the arms and legs until freed from its irritation.
Any nerve damage to the brachial plexus can cause pain, loss of mobility and loss of sensation to these areas, this is known as brachial plexopathy. This damage can be a result of a direct injury, stretching injury, birth trauma or other issues, such as inflammatory conditions.

I went to see Dr. Hruby with a shoulder issue that had plagued me for nearly 50 years. A dozen MD’s, specialists, Chiropractors, therapists (physical, occupational, massage) and acupuncturists had been unable to deal effectively with it and the approach was simply pain management. Dr. Hruby approached the problem in a completely different and effective way. With a few adjustments and a couple of exercises the problem was solved and I was a new man doing things I had never been able to do before. That was six years ago and the fix has held. Since then I have been going to Dr. Hruby on an as needed basis. He has helped me with back, neck, knee and wrist issues as they occur and made it possible for me to work a physically demanding job and play hard. He treats the whole individual and you can’t go wrong with Hruby Chiropractic.Gerald
I had a achy shoulder that I ignored until I could no longer raise my arm or carry anything. Thanks for Dr. Hruby, I once again have a full range of motion and am back to normal. He didn’t just work on my shoulder but explained how the whole body is connected. My whole body feels better than ever!Jenny
